Hosted by University of Wales, Newport
The HEA, in conjunction with the University of Wales, Newport, is running this one-day event on the experience of postgraduate students. The event will offer a mix of presentations and workshops focusing on the postgraduate experience, and should be of interest to all those interested in enhancing the experience of postgraduate students.
The morning session will focus on what we can learn from the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES), including an update from the HEA on key changes to PRES and a project collecting best practice on the use of PRES for enhancement. This will be followed by a workshop where participants can discuss how to use PRES – and other source of information – to inform discussions and decisions about improving the experience of postgraduate researchers in their institution.
The afternoon session will introduce findings from an HEA commissioned research project on Transitions to Postgraduate Study, and this will be followed by a discussion on the diverse needs of Postgraduate students with postgraduates themselves.
